Premises and Infrastructure

The University is continuously upgrading and renovating buildings and infrastructure in all  the campuses to increase accessibility for the motion-, visual- or hearing-disabled students and personnel (reserved parking spaces, elevators, wheelchair lifts, toilets, ramps and special corridors for wheelchairs, etc.). More specifically, in the 3 campuses of the University are now available:

 

  1. Accessible campus buildings, classrooms, laboratories, libraries and restaurants through ramps, elevators and wheelchair lifts.
  2. Accessible toilets for disabled students and personnel, one in every level, building and campus of UNIWA.
  3. Special personal study stations for disabled students and personnel in the University Libraries, for (i) motor disabilities, (b) vision problems / blindness, (c) hearing loss problems.
  4. Accessible university webpages, through the introduction of an accessibility menu with functionalities that manage screen luminance, font sizes, background/foreground colors, narration, etc. (W3C / WCAG standard).
  5. Facilities and services for on-line and/or face-to-face translation of courses to the (greek) sign language, for hearing-impaired students and personnel.
  6. Sport and athletic facilities in the two major UNIWA campuses for disabled students-athletes.
